Torrential rainstorm has been pouring down on Hainan since September 30th, causing massive flooding in the island province. So far, over 230 thousands people have been evacuated. In Wenchang, one of the worst-hit city, over 6,000 people are still trapped in their flood-surrounded homes, waiting to be rescued.
The big headline of today’s South China Metropolis, a Haikou-based newspaper reads that “He Guoqiang is concerned about the flooding situation in Hainan”. In case you are wondering, He is currently the head of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
The big image shows soldier rescuers sending a boatload of bottled water to the stranded victims.
