Actress Tang Wei to appear in White Deer Plain?
Wang Quan’an (王全安) is the director of Apart, Together (团圆), which won the 2010 Berlin Film Festival’s Silver Bear for Best Screenplay. In today’s tabloid City Sun, published from Rizhao in Shandong, an article centers on the speculation that director Wang has his eye on Tang Wei (汤唯) for the female lead of White Deer Plain (白鹿原). Scenes of an explicit sexual nature had meant that the movie rights for the novel were off-limits for some years.
