Beijing opens first gay sexual health clinic

The Beijing News last week reported that the capital’s first clinic aimed specifically at homosexuals opened in Chaoyang district of Beijing with the aim of providing free treatment for venereal diseases as well as tracking AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

The person in charge of this clinic said that it the gay clinic is temporarily being housed in Chaoyang Disease Control Centre but will have two or three branches in Beijing community hospitals in the future. HIV positive gays will be able to participate in the national free AIDS treatment effort.

The website www.hivolunt.net allows people to apply online for testing and treatment and to participate in the disease tracking project. Participants in tracking project will get a ¥50 mobile phone charge card.
