Henry F. Pringle’s “Bridge House Survivor”
Pringle was imprisoned by Japanese forces from October 1942 to August 1945, and Bridge House Survivor, available from Earnshaw Books, is his harrowing account of torture under the Japanese.

Michael Pettis interviews Carsick Cars’ Zhang Shouwang
In the May issue of Esquire, Pettis asks Shouwang, whose name means “to keep watch”, ten questions about composing the a very famous song, rock music today compared to the ’80s, traveling and “new Chinese music”.
