Shawn Huang (ι»εΎ), a pop star on the mainland, released a new video for his song, “Sell” (ε), which features a whole cast of people either spitting blood or foaming at the mouth after calculating how many years it would take them to buy a house in the capital.
The lyrics, which appear on the original Youtube page, are translated below:
To live like a proper person, instead my heart has been robbed
As if dreams are too far, some have sold their wings
Wounds that others don’t understand, I hold my head high and don’t speak about them
My desires are so arrogant, who would want to flaunt their superiority
I rather bleed than cry, I rather see myself suffer
The craziness of selling myself, why pretend
I rather bleed than cry, I rather cry while I suffer
Selling out my beliefs, why be so absurd
I don’t care, I don’t care about wounds and scars
I don’t care, I don’t care about being changed beyond recognition
Wounds that others don’t understand, I hold my head high and don’t speak about them
You have your heaven, I have my wings
