If anyone needs additional (anecdotal) evidence that young Chinese people are similar to their Western counterparts in that they do not read their news in print media:
Yesterday I gave a talk to about 30 of Professor Hu Yong‘s students at the Peking University’s School of Journalism and Communications. All of them are studying news, journalism, media and related fields.
I asked them if they read newspapers. Not a single student raised a hand. TV News? Only a few of them. It’s all about the Internet.
