A man suspected of murdering eight people on January 5th in Suizhou, Hubei Province was seized yesterday in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei.
The eight victims include a 42-year-old woman who rejected the suspect’s marriage proposal and her 2-year-old grandson.
The suspect, a 35-year-old man named Xiong Zhenling, was recognized yesterday in a photo shop in Wuhan where he was taking a passport photo and immediately turned in to the police.
Xiong has confessed to the murders. In his confession, Xiong stated that he had been in hiding for several days in Hainan Province before he decided to return to Hubei to get a fake ID card and kill more people including his ex-wife and her new husband.
The police had previously put up a cash reward of 100,000 yuan for information leading to the arrest.
