Tomorrow’s parade for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China is going to be fabulously awesome, at least according to the artist’s rendering printed on the front page of today’s Yangtse Evening Post.

A detailed schedule was included on three inside pages; the cover announced four major segments:

1. Flag raising ceremony at 10 am;

2. Military parade, lasting approximately 66 minutes and including marchers, equipment, and air formations;

3. Color guard;

4. Civilian parade.

For the benefit of local readers, the paper noted that the Jiangsu float will pass the Tiananmen rostrum at approximately 11:30.

Today’s top headline was also related to National Day: the governments of Jiangsu Province and its capital Nanjing issued congratulatory statements to the country on its 60th anniversary.
