F1 race car made from scrap

At Youku Buzz, Kaiser Kuo links us to brothers in Tangshan who are building knock-off versions of F1 race cars.

Unbelievable? Watch and see. The introduction in the short film reads: “How brilliant people turned rubble into an F1 race car”. Following the Chinese subtitles directs to an analysis of how the motor came from an old car, the new wheels came from old wheels of cars that the Zhao brothers already had in possession, how the internal structure came from the iron skeleton of an old double bed, how old metal frame chairs became drivers’ seats…

There’s also a chronological charting of how many days it took to build this replica.

A lot of it is rubbish is in the subs, along the lines of, “Bet you can’t think this can be made into an F1 race car!” and “What are they doing now??”.

Netizen reporter for Youku.com Fanmuou (凡木偶) apparently found this knock-off spectacle and filmed it. Cutely, the shanzhai F1 is called Brothers (or “兄弟之星”) and at the end of the video there are edited-in clips from real F1 shows - not to be confused with the actual “Brothers” race car.
