Bill Clinton’s fake Life, New York Times’ fake Beijing

A New York Times editorial published on Sunday muses about the fake Chinese editions of Bill Clinton’s life that are available all over China.

The editorial informs us confidently that “shoppers in Beijing routinely go to an area called Knockoff Central to buy imitation Gap sweaters or mock Timberland shoes” (emphasis added).

Yes, Knockoff Central, all Beijingers know it. It is located just around the corner from Jayson Blair’s old desk at the New York Times.
