The gender gap makes itself evident once again through the horror that greets dirty language and innuendo written by primary students in their autograph books.
As the Inner Mongolia Morning Post reporter tells it, he unintentionally leafed through the autograph books of a class of graduating sixth-grade students and was shocked by what he found: Students claiming an address in the red-light district, writing “Screw you!” as words to live by, and giving their most memorable experience as “killing a man” and their biggest goal as “sleeping with you.” But that’s not the worst part – in addition to the filth, the reporter found miswritten characters and grammatical mistakes.
Of course this is really no different from how kids have always acted, as commenters in the forums repeatedly pointed out with tales from their own youth. The handy “Related Links” box below the article even points to stories from five years ago in which people complain about their childrens’ lack of morals as displayed in the pages of autograph books.
Ironically, the article itself is a pretty good summary of juvenile prurience. I guess it’s a good thing kids don’t read newspapers.
