Premier Wen Jiabao held a press conference yesterday upon the closing of the NPC, taking questions that ranged from the new anti-secession law to the death penalty to floating the RMB. Press conferences are not exactly know for their news-making images, but the Premier obliged photographers by gesturing expressively while responding to reporters’ questions. Today’s papers illustrated the lengthy transcript with Premier Wen’s various expressions and crowd-pleasing pull-quotes.
