Two papers get the prize today:
The weekly Southern Weekend (nanfang zhoumo) for clear layout and feature stories on two very different aspects of China: the new National Theater in Beijing (large headline), and various issues to do with peasantry and how the lack of development in the countryside will affect China’s growth (picture with red frame).
The other winner is the junky Beijing Daily Messenger. The paper is down to its usual low standards today, but the headline is interesting: REVISING THE CONSTITUTION WILL PERFECT THE PROTECTION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY.
