Last Sunday, Danwei has posted a list of statistics about the Golden Week May holiday. Now these figures seem to meeting more and more challenges. Today, reporters from Beijing Times (BT) are obviously enraged by the statistics department of China National Tourist Administration (CNTA). They put a negative leading headline about CNTA on their front page to express their dissatisfaction:

Golden Week tourism statistics are suspicious!

In the report, the reporter talks about the frustrations of trying to get information from CNTA. Here is a dialogue from the reporter’s phone interview with CNTA officials:

CNTA: Have you written a report on our statistics about the Golden Week?

BT: Yes, I did. I am wondering how these figures are calculated?

CNTA: Where did your report come from?

BT: I wrote that article after I did a thorough analysis of other media’s report.

CNTA : Well, so you can figure it out by yourself! (Hangs up)
