China sends its first batch of 12 volunteers to Ethiopia Thursday. It is the first time the country has dispatched young volunteers to Africa.
The 12 volunteers will stay in Ethiopia for half a year to help local residents develop the use of methane gas, improve physical education, develop information technology and upgrade medical treatment.
They will also teach people a little Chinese.
