Xinhua’s lead headline this morning is: Hu’s Pyongyang visit successful: official. Excerpt:
President Hu returned to Beijing Sunday morning after an official goodwill visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). During Hu’s visit, he had held talks with Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK’s National Defense Commission.
Contrast that with Xinhua’s scintillating Chinese headline this morning: 1% of nationwide population to be sample for census starting November 1. Rocking stuff.
