The China Daily’s own article about the new venture (here) says:
Both the China Daily Website and SOHU said to the media that the co-establishment of the new English platform would create a win-win situation for both sides.
Notice the careful avoidance of any claim that readers might actually get any benefit from it. Maybe they do have a sense of humor after all.
