Two mini-bus drivers talk to each other on the front cover of The Beijing News. Yesterday, about thirty mini-bus owners in Beijing’s Daxing District decided to stop work because they have not received the subsidies they were due when the government reduced bus fares in January. The route management company has promise that compensation is on the way.
Today’s top headline announces the appointment of 22 municipal bureau heads during the second session of the city’s 13th People’s Congress. Eight of the appointees are newcomers, and the remaining three bureaus will be taken care of before the end of March.

• The Beijing Traffic Management Bureau launched a new website yesterday. Through the new site, drivers can pay tickets and reserve new license plates online.
• Chinese police believe that the “poisoned dumplings” may well have been deliberately tainted, probably by someone out of the country. Ten Japanese consumers fell ill after eating China-made dumplings in January. See China Daily for more information.
