Special Olympics close in Shanghai

The top headline of today’s Shanghai Youth Daily announces that the State Council has approved a proposal to construct an express railway between Beijing and Shanghai. According to the article, when the route opens in 2010, the journey from Beijing to Shanghai will be cut in half, to five hours, and the average train speed will reach 300 kilometers per hour.
