The New Express, August 6, 2010
Guangdong’s New Express leads with a top headline about a possible three day holiday during the Asian Games set to take place in Guangzhou later in the year.
The large picture shows jailed businessman Huang Guangyu, who founded Gome, the giant electronics retailer which until recently made him the richest man in China. In May this year, Huang was convicted of insider trading and sentenced to 14 years in prison.
Now, the New Express reports, Gome’s board of directors have sued Huang in Hong Kong for a “breach of fiduciary duties”.
