Nanjing’s subway newspaper, the Oriental Guardian, brings the lite news today.
The photo is from the opening of the China International Fashion Week, which kicked off yesterday in Beijing.
Below, the paper fans the flames of vaccine panic with the headline, “Guangzhou has received multiple reports of illness possibly caused by the H1N1 vaccine.” According to the article, reprinted from the Yangcheng Evening News, those “multiple reports” are from two parents whose children felt intense discomfort after receiving the H1N1 flu vaccine. The parents suspect that, like the cases in Shanxi, their children were given tainted vaccines.
In local news, the paper notes that Nanjing residents can buy authentic Crocs sandals for 30 yuan a pair through April 5. One suspects that the report is actually an advertisement, but with a commuter paper, how can you be sure?
