Na Ying, a Chinese pop singer, became the target of a recent public outcry for alleged “celebrity power abuse.”

The episode started with a microblog message in which Na bragged that she got the traffic police to send a patrol car for a dress that she forgot at home. This message immediately drew a large amount of criticism. Despite Na’s explanation in another message that the dress was for her performance that night at a gala held by Beijing’s traffic management bureau, mounting anger forced her to delete both messages.

The top headline of the newspaper concerns a fire scare in Guangzhou. A gas canister was sneaked on board a line 5 subway train and began to burn at around 10:30 pm yesterday. The fire was soon put out with no one getting injured. The owner fled the scene during the chaos, so the police was unable to determine whether it was a deliberate arson or an accident.
