Xin’an Evening Post is published out of Hefei by the Anhui Daily Newspaper Group. It has the largest circulation of any newspaper in Anhui.
Today’s lead headline announces cooperation between Xin’an Evening Post and Die Burger, an MIH Group newspaper that is the biggest in South Africa. In its 24 November issue, that newspaper covered the beautiful natural scenery of Hongcun, Anhui.
According to today’s paper, the Anhui Daily Newspaper Group holds 63% of the new company, Xin’an Media Ltd; MIH put in 210 million yuan for a 37% stake. The new company will begin operation soon.
The front page photo shows rescuers carrying sand out of a collapsed iron mine. The Yangchong mine in Fanchang County, Anhui, collapsed Tuesday afternoon. Seven people have been trapped for two days. Rescuers said they detected signs of life yesterday, and will dig a hole to transport food and drink today.

- A spot check made by the Anhui branch of the National Statistics Bureau said that 11% of families in Anhui own a second home, and that the average living space of Anhui urban citizens is 30.8 square meters per person;
- An official of the National Development and Reform Commission said that prices will continue to rise for the time being.
