Today’s headline announces events that will be held at 9:18 PM today to commemorate the 76th anniversary of September 18 Incident, aka the Mukden Incident, that occurred outside of Shengyang on this date in 1931. The city government will hold a ceremony at the 9.18 Incident Exhibition Museum, air raid sirens will sound for three minutes, and cars on nine roads and eighteen streets will stop and sound their horns. Shenyang’s local TV and radio station will also interrupt their broadcasts with a three-minute alarm.
