Jay Chou, the pop superstar from Taiwan, extends his movie career with a role in the upcoming big screen adaptation of Green Hornet. His character, Kato, was played by Bruce Lee in the 1960s TV series, which was based on a radio program created in the 1930s.
Seth Rogen, who co-wrote the film, plays Britt Reid, a publisher who moonlights as the Green Hornet. Michael Gondry directs. Stephen Chow was originally set to both direct and star as Kato before he backed out.
Green Hornet is scheduled for a January 14, 2011 release.
