Daniel Pearl World Music Day in Beijing

This Saturday, October 14, at the Beijing CD Jazz Club, the city’s Ah-Q jazz band will be performing a special concert as part of the Fifth Annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days global network of concerts:

Daniel Pearl Music Days is about using the universal language of music to diminish hatred, respect differences and reach out in friendship. We’ll be joining thousands of musicians in hundreds of concerts and dozens of countries, ringing the world in a musical affirmation of the oneness of mankind.

After journalist and musician Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Pakistan, his family and friends came together to work towards a more humane world. A classically-trained violinist, fiddler and mandolin player, Daniel Pearl joined musical groups across the globe. Music Day is centered around his October 10th birthday and carries on his mission of connecting diverse groups through words and music.

Please join us this Saturday to celebrate cross cultural harmony with the Ah-Q Jazz Arkestra and other Beijing musicians. If you play an instrument or sing, please feel free to join us on stage.

Show starts at 9:00pm. Admission is free. For more information on the Daniel Pearl World Music Days, please visit www.music-days.org.

The Beijing CD Jazz Club is located about 300 meters south of the main entrance to the Agricultural Exhibition Hall, on the east side of the third ring road, (just by the pedestrian bridge). Telephone: 6506.8288.
