Here’s a promising new blog on Fortune China’s website by old China hand Sibuxiang, a foreigner who has lived, traveled and worked in Hong Kong and China since 1974.
The starting point for my posts will be anecdotes, observations, and photos from my travels in China before the Open Door and Reform era began. My posts are bi-lingual, in English and Chinese. Click on the title of each post to get to the bi-lingual version.
Sibuxiang is a deer-like animal known in English as Pere David’s deer. In Chinese it also means “neither fish nor fowl”. I think is also an apt description for “third culture” people.
