It’s not easy for a state-owned enterprise to adapt to a market economy. The Beijing Gas Group tries to use the visual language of government to persuade Beijing residents to use their maintenance services for stoves and water heaters.
The flyer pictured below has a reproduction of the Gas Group’s official chop, and the words “User Maintenance Notice” which sounds like an order that must be followed, whereas in fact there are now thousands of companies and private individuals who offer the same service, 100% legally.
