Washing her privates in public
Kelly Chen (陈慧琳), a Hong Kong actress and pop singer who went to high school in Japan, has since the beginning of last year been a celebrity spokeswoman for Toto, a brand of toilets and bathroom ware, as reported on Danwei in April 2005.
The ads are funny because they are promoting a rather Japanese type of toilet with a bidet function, using the slogan “Have you started washing already? She’s started washing…”
There is a new series of the ads out, and some of them are on extremely prominent billboards, such as the one pictured here (click to enlarge) on Beijing’s Third Ring Road.
