An Airbus ad in the People’s Daily (March 8) involving a rather cheesy play on Chinese characters:
Airbus in Chinese is ‘kongzhong keche’, literally ‘bus in the middle of the sky’. In this ad, the vertical stroke in the character for ‘middle’ is formed with a red ‘1’. Very subtle.
