From Michael Ji:
American radio behemoth Clear Channel (the same company that dropped shock jock Howard Stern after repeated federal indecency violations) and Beijing’s Gehua Cultural Development Group recently signed a 50-year co-operation pact.
The newly formed venture will allow Chinese citizens to have access to unprecedented Western cultural and sporting venues such as theater and motor sports, specifically (you heard it right) monster truck events.
From Jeremy Goldkorn:
Clear Channel’s press release about the event has a few humorous points, like this one:
“From the first moment I landed in Beijing, it was clear that the political and business leadership in Beijing was committed to providing every citizen with access to world-class sports and entertainment events,” said Ed Cunningham, lead negotiator and Senior Vice President of Clear Channel Entertainment.
Been at the baijiu have you Ed?
