Aside from reports about “two conferences” in Beijing, most media focused on another disaster in western India.
From a Xinhua report:
At least 300 people, most of them women and children, were killed and over 200 injured on Tuesday in a stampede at Mandra Devi temple on a hillock in Satara district in Maharastra state in southwest India.
The pictured front page is from Beijing Daily Messenger and features a photo of bodies of Hindus pilgrims lying inside the courtyard of a temple in Mandher Devi, 260 km southeast of Bombay.
The red headline is :
Liu Qi (General Secretary of Beijing Municipal Party Committee): to build the best city with harmony.
The big black headline is : Housing prices in Beijing will not increase too much in the next three years.
