Xiushui Market aka Silk Alley has been open for 20 years and is famous for selling fake brand name clothes. The market officially closed yesterday. Most newspapers in Beijing used this news for their lead headlines.
Construction on the Xiushui building which will house the market is almost complete, and it may open next month.
