Read magazine (shucheng) is trying very hard to be the New Yorker of China.
It’s a shame they couldn’t come up with a completely original format, but the magazine deserves credit nonetheless for its mix of articles about society and culture, cartoons and whimsical cover illustrations.
The pictured cover is from Read‘s July edition (click to enlarge) and shows you what the Shanghai skyline looks like after a few rounds of martinis.
