American filmmaker and photographer looking for full time assistant for the next 12 months. Work to start immediately. Job is primarily in Beijing, but will include frequent travel around China.
A knowledge of filmmaking and/or photography is a plus, but not essential. The successful candidate will be a Chinese national who is fluent in English and a great interpreter. Duties include making travel arrangements, transporting equipment, bookkeeping, research and interpreting. Computer proficiency, particularly with Word, Excel and use of the internet are required. This assistant needs to be friendly, fun and flexible. She/he should be comfortable with people from all walks of life, and must be highly organized and extremely focused — able to set priorities and manage the work without constant supervision.
