Most of today’s Beijing newspapers headlined with the same story: yesterday morning, the Xi’an Sports Lottery Ticket Centre did another run of the lottery draw that recently ended in acrimony after fake tickets screwed up the results.
The second raffle ceremony included 33 participants who didn’t get prizes they were supposed to in the first draw because of fake lottery tickets. At the end of the raffle, three of them drove away in their prizes: brand new BMWs. The Beijing Morning Post front page above has a photo of the event’s happy ending.

The front page of the Beijing Youth Daily reported that Dupont China denied that Teflon is harmful to health. The National Quality Supervision Department has apparently started to investigate. Hmm.
Meanwhile, most Beijing newspapers are still babbling on about the heavy rains of July 10, and how the city’s infrastructure needs to be developed to avoid the flash street floods that happened on the weekend.
