The state-owned China Daily just cannot resist using articles from other publications without paying the writers or asking for permission. Well, at least they have started reproducing the bylines.
The latest cut and paste incident is the unauthorized loan of an entire article, word for word, and photographs from That’s Shanghai. The story is about the renovation of old Shanghai houses and was written by Arthur Jones; you can find it here. The China Daily reproduction is here.
