The top story in The Beijing News today is about President Hu’s meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during the 15th Economic Leaders Meeting of the APEC forum yesterday. They exchanged views on bilateral ties and the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, and Hu welcomed Abe to come to China.
The first two affordable housing projects in Beijing’s Xisanqi neighborhood began construction yesterday, reads the second headline. These homes will be available on the market at the end of the year. Average prices will top out at around 6,350 yuan per square meter. In contrast, houses inside the Fouth Ring Road generally ask more than 13,000 yuan per square meter.
Today is Teachers’ Day in China. The front page picture shows hundreds of teachers participating in a mass interview session organized by a major matchmaking agency.
