Fu Tieshan, the bishop of the Beijing diocese of China’s Catholic Church, died on Friday evening. Xinhua’s one sentence bulletin, released early this morning, lists a number of different titles that Fu held. In order:

- Vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People’s Congress
- Vice-director of the China Association for International Exchange
- Chairman of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association
- Acting chairman of the Bishops’ Conference of the Catholic Church in China
- Bishop of the Beijing diocese
