After a string of awful front pages, The Beijing Daily Messenger takes the prize today for NOT covering half the page with tacky adverts, and for a noteworthy headline:
THE WORDS ‘EXPLOITED CLASS’ TO BE DELETED
The article refers to a proposal to remove those words from the founding documents of the CPPCC (Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference).
Special mention goes to this week’s Economic Observer, for a well designed supplement on the Two Meetings. ‘The Great Topics’ referred to on the supplement’s cover are: Development outlook, amending the constitutioon, fighting corruption, legal reform, the problems of the peasants, foreign relations, the economy, the RMB, stock markets, real estate issues, resources, social security, health issues, and education.
WORST FRONT PAGE OF THE DAY
The Beijing Youth Daily deserves a pie in the face for lousy print quality, a photograph showing the backs of the heads of a group of journalists, and a headline straight out the propaganda factory:
