European Style
The country’s state-owned media organs continue to entertain their hapless readers, usually for the wrong reasons. Such as this one:
The China Daily website’s homepage features keyword advertisements by Ali Baba, the online marketplace where Chinese companies offer their products to the world. Recently, the key words “vaginal speculum” and “string panty” seem to have been on the China Daily’s homepage every day.
Clicking through the links can be educational; the object pictured here is a vaginal speculum (European style).
The question is: Is Ali Baba choosing to have those keywords displayed, or has the China Daily decided that such products are what their readers are looking for?
