Feeling down about football commentators with prejudices against antipodeans? Stand up for the Australians by going to the Bookworm tonight for this book talk event:

Novelist and recipient of the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, Geraldine Brooks is the author of two acclaimed works of nonfiction, Nine Parts of Desire and Foreign Correspondence. She is also a former war correspondent whose writing has appeared in publications such as the New York Times and the Guardian.

Melina Marchetta’s multi-award-winning novel for young adults, Looking for Alibrandi, is a heart-warming story about a teenage girl’s struggles with coming-of-age and coming to terms with who you are. This popular novel has been translated into numerous languages, and Marchetta’s screenplay of the book was also richly awarded.
