She is also a former war correspondent whose writing has appeared in publications such as the New York Times and the Guardian.
Melina Marchetta’s multi-award-winning novel for young adults, Looking for Alibrandi, is a heart-warming story about a teenage girl’s struggles with coming-of-age and coming to terms with who you are. This popular novel has been translated into numerous languages, and Marchetta’s screenplay of the book was also richly awarded.
