Singapore’s Straits Times does a story on the revival of the qipao (cheong sam):

Shortly thereafter, Xinhua puts a story about qipao’s on it’s China View website. The photo and text are identical, there is no attribition.

A few weeks later, That’s Beijing does a story on romantic spots in Beijing:

The China Daily’s ever vigilant web pirates I mean web editors take up the story.

The photo and text are identical, but at least they credit That’s Beijing. Progress?
Thanks to Sin in Shanghai for finding the first act of piracy, and to Micah Sittig for the second. Micah Sittig’s blog about China, Michigan and books is here. Micah also has a nifty Chinese character recognition tool at wubi.org.
