This is completely off topic: the US State Department has issued a set of visual identity guidelines for all diplomatic and State Department correspondence. The new rules ban the use of Courier New 12 (the former official typeface) and insist on the use of Times New Roman 14.
The State Department memorandum says that Times New Roman 14 “takes up almost exactly the same area on the page as Courier New 12, while offering a crisper, cleaner, more modern look”.
Modern huh?
