Foreign babe of Beijing
Foreign Babes of Beijing, a book by Rachel DeWoskin about her experiences as a star in a Chinese soap opera, is to be made into a film.
Reuters reports that the film will be directed by Alice Wu, helpfully explaining that the story is “likened to Lost in Translation“.
The film is to be produced by Paramount Pictures. Alice Wu previously wrote and directed Saving Face, which IMDB describes thusly:
A Chinese-American lesbian and her traditionalist mother are reluctant to go public with secret loves that clash against cultural expectations.
