The Premier’s blog

Online government.

Wen Jiabao’s got a blog.

Sina may boast actors, writers, and other big-name celebrities, but only Bokee claims a Premier.

There’s only one category: “Affairs of State,” and the Premier post about statistics, mostly. All publicly available information. Mine accident deaths. Corruption sentences. Doesn’t look like he’s leaking any state secrets.

Bokee has a history of collecting published material and throwing it up under a “blog” heading, so there is justification, if one were so inclined, for doubting that “China’s treasure” actually had a hand in this. Entries go back to a June ASEM meeting, but comments only really start up in late November, so it seems Wen Jiabao has had a bit of a hard time finding a hook to draw attention to his blog.

UPDATE: The Wen Jiabao blog is no longer up, probably proving that it was a fake.

UPDATE 2: Rebecca MacKinnon has confirmed from somebody at Bokee that the blog was a fake. Now the question is: was it a publicity stunt by the people at Bokee, or was just it an Internet prank?
