Xinhua’s Chinese website is reporting that China’s Chery automobiles are becoming a recognized brand among consumers in Egypt. In November last year, Chery signed an agreement with the Egyptian trading company CIG to sell Chery cars in the Egyptian market. Since then, more than 500 vehicles have been driven away by Egyptian customers.
Chery’s man in Cairo, Mr Wang Ge, said that they hope to sell 2,000 cars by the end of this year, and to reach a sales volume of 5,000 to 7,500 by the end of 2007.
