In the week following the rescue<\/a> of 115 miners<\/a> from a flooded coal mine in Wangjialing, Shanxi Province, there has been no further good news concerning the 38 miners who remained trapped underground. Thirty-three of those have been found dead in the last week, and hope is running out for the last five miners.<\/p>\n

With no additional news to report, today’s Xinhua Daily Telegraph<\/i> ran an unusual front page feature that narrated the entire incident in six acts. The article could easily be a treatment for an inspiring movie-of-the-week:<\/p>\n

Hope<\/b>: Through the “holes of life” come the echoes of voices crying out to live.<\/p>\n

Miracle<\/b>: Cooperation and persistence snatches 115 lives from the jaws of death.<\/p>\n

Standing Fast<\/b>: We believe that they are still alive.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
