See these posts: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chinalawblog.com\/2007\/06\/chinese_law_gossip_boy_oh_boym.html\">Chinese Law Gossip<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chinalawblog.com\/2007\/07\/is_china_lawyer_blog_finished.html\">Is China Lawyer Blog finished?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today this Google ad appeared on Danwei:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.laodanwei.org\/fake_zhong_lun.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"fake_zhong_lun.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.laodanwei.org\/fake_zhong_lun-thumb.jpg\" width=\"291\" height=\"68\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The name of the law firm is the angry American lawyer&#8217;s former employer. But there is no website at zhonglunlawfirm.com.<\/p>\n<p>Your correspondent clicked on the ad because I remembered that the real URL of the law firm was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zhonglun.com\/\">zhonglun.com<\/a>. Something seemed fishy.<\/p>\n<p>Surprise, surprise, the ad is not actually linked to zhonglunlawfirm.com but to the angry lawyer&#8217;s blog.<\/p>\n<p>The same ad is currently being displayed on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pekingduck.org\">Peking Duck<\/a>, but without the fake URL:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"fake_zhong_lun_2.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.laodanwei.org\/fake_zhong_lun_2.jpg\" width=\"237\" height=\"56\" \/><\/p>\n<p><i>Note to Google: I understand the terms of your service are that I must not click on ads on my own site, but I hope you agree that an exception can be made in this case because I was investigating a fraudulent advertisement.<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An American lawyer with an axe to grind about his former employer \u2014 a Chinese law firm \u2014 has been going public with all his complaints about the firm on his blog (use this link in China).
