Back in 2003, in the aftermath of SARS, after the logo was unveiled, many Chinese gave voice to their disapproval on-line, saying that it was: too much Beijing-centered (!); it was offensive because it resembled a kneeling man with a hat on his head begging; that it looked like a spastic thumbprint, a soggy penis and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, after unveiling the London 2012 logo, a similar storm was hitting the web, where disgusted people and a horde of angry designers were commenting on the (disgraceful?) choice made by the London Organising Committee. A petition is already under way to redesign the logo or to go back to the bid logo.
